LEADS BACKGROUND
Life Education and Development Support (LEADS) is a registered not-for-profit Trust established on 14 December 2005 by a group of rural development professionals committed to fostering sustainable and inclusive development. Headquartered in Ranchi, Jharkhand, LEADS currently operates across 17 districts of Jharkhand, one district of Odisha, and one district of Bihar, reaching more than 3,000 villages through community-led development initiatives.
For over two decades, LEADS has been working to unfold human potential by equipping marginalized communities with knowledge, opportunities, and sustainable solutions. Our integrated development approach focuses on strengthening education, child protection, livelihoods, health, women’s empowerment, environmental sustainability, renewable energy, natural resource management and community institutions.
LEADS works closely with tribal communities, women, children, adolescents, youth, farmers, migrant workers, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations, enabling them to access their entitlements, improve their livelihoods and lead dignified lives.

OUR APPROACH
LEADS follows a participatory and community-driven approach where communities actively participate in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of every programme.
We believe lasting change happens when communities take ownership of the development process. Every intervention strengthens local institutions, develops leadership, encourages convergence with government schemes, and creates scalable development models that can be replicated across regions.

General Objectives
- To build collective self-confidence within poor and the marginalized communities by establishing and strengthening their own community-based organizations in form of Gram Sabha, WSHGs, SMC, Farmers Clubs, Youth Groups, Bal Sansad, Mata Samiti etc
- To create awareness among the referral communities with regard to various issues and entitlements Child Development, women empowerment, NEP 2020/RTE Act 2009 Adivasis Development, government schemes and entitlements, disability rights, health/Hygiene/WASH, livelihood options, VB-G-RAM-G, roles and responsibility of PRIs and gram sabha etc. and thereby to contribute in their developmental process.
- To enhance the capabilities and skills of youth, enabling them to pursue self-employment, entrepreneurship, and gainful employment within various institutions.
- To build the capacity of grassroot organizations for making them effective in their development intervention on different thematic areas
- To develop and disseminate high-quality, issue-based communication materials—including print and digital publications, manuals, booklets, posters, handbills, and videos—to support development work meaningfully in their interventions.
- To provide consultancy services to various resource organization and the CSOs for ease of their operation.
- Publish research reports, manuals, booklets, posters, handbills and IEC materials.
- To make thematic linkages with national and international collaborative initiatives related to NDGs/SDGs
